A great opportunity that young job seekers have to learn Italian is to participate in the Work’n’Learn programme. Scuola Virgilio provides you with Italian language lessons and helps you find accommodation and work: in the morning you study Italian in an intensive group course, in the afternoon or evening you work.
The only condition is to be at least 18 years old and know a little Italian at the time the application is sent.
Another possibility for those who love children is also to carry out an au pair exchange by obtaining room and board in exchange for family activities (such as, for example, babysitting, language lessons, accompaniment, etc.).
You can apply by sending your CV and at least 2 photos.
If your profile matches the needs of potential employers, you will receive a proposal.
A minimum level of A2 Italian and advanced English (and possibly another foreign language) are required.
In order to apply to work as an au pair in a family, in addition to the requirements specified above, a level of native English and personal references are also required. Basically, free full-board family accommodation is guaranteed plus weekly pocket money, in exchange for 20 hours of work a week in the family.
If you don’t have a minimum A2 level of Italian, it is recommended to improve your level by studying on your own or following online lessons with Scuola Virgilio teachers
