Italian Course Bildungsurlaub

In addition to pure pleasure, Scuola Virgilio students can take an Italian course in Sicily for business purposes. There are special programs, maybe even in your country, for companies and their workers.
This is the case for example in Germany, where the law allows all employees of both private and public entities (both full-time and part-time) to request an extra week’s holiday per year (or two weeks consecutively every two years) to participate in refresher courses thus continuing the professional training activity. These courses can be in Germany or abroad, such as Scuola Virgilio’s Italian language courses by the sea. These are intensive or super-intensive courses which usually consist of a total of 30 hours of 45 minutes.

How the Bildungsurlaub course works

Our super-intensive course approved for Bildungsurlaub in many German Bundesländer (federal states) is the Standard Plus course (20 hours of 60 minutes per week) plus at least 3 hours of cultural activities each week, including:
– 1h30 guided tour of the city in Italian;
– 1h30 conversation in Italian guided by the teachers of the school;
– 45′ meeting with a craftsman;
– 45′ food and wine tastings

The total hours (of 60 minutes) exceed the 30 scheduled lessons of 45 minutes (22h30′). For those who need to comply with the relevant regulations requiring 30 hours per week in addition to the regular courses, for an extra fee there will be cultural lessons about history, politics, social life to come up to 30 full hours per week. Please contact the school for more details.
