Visits and excursions around western Sicily

Visits and excursions to archaeological sites, nature reserves and towns of art around Trapani

A study stay by the sea in Sicily is a perfect opportunity to discover fabulous places. After the Italian language classes, Scuola Virgilio's students can visit archaeological sites such as Mozia, Segesta, Selinunte, the beaches and the pristine nature of San Vito Lo Capo and the Egadi Islands, towns of art such as Erice, Marsala, Mazara del Vallo, Salemi. Each visit or excursion will be not just a moment of discovery but also an opportunity to practice Italian in a stimulating way. Students can decide whether to visit these places on their own or join half-day excursions arranged by Scuola Virgilio with partner agencies. At the beginning of each week of intensive Italian courses, Scuola Virgilio's staff will inform all students on the program of visits and excursions, the relevant fees and conditions for registration.

A language holiday in Sicily can be part of a wider trip around Sicily. Close to Trapani, the regional capital Palermo and Monreale can be visited on a day trip. A little farther afield, there is Agrigento and its Valley of the Temples, Syracuse, the baroque in Ragusa and Noto, the volcanoes of the Eolie Islands and the impressive Etna overlooking Catania and Taormina. Scuola Virgilio doesn't arrange excursions to these places but provides its students with all the information and advice on how to get there.

Dicono di noi...

I’ve been back home in Toronto for just over a week and do miss the stunning and ever-changing view of the sea that you could glimpse in the morning from the sidewalk in front of Scuola Virgilio. My experience of Trapani and environs was absolutely delightful and certainly enhanced by attending the Italian language classes at the Scuola.
